The University currently has over 150 employees on apprenticeship training, across 22 different subject areas. This form of training is allowing employees to develop in their careers by applying learning to their current roles.
This March, seven more of our employees have enrolled onto the senior leader programme with Oxford Brookes. This will be our third cohort of learners onto this apprenticeship standard which is enabling our organisation to utilise the apprenticeship levy to provide higher-level training for experienced managers who want to progress.
New senior leaders from University of Oxford join induction call onto the apprenticeship
We spoke to some of our new learners, Heidi and Jemima, about why they chose to do this apprenticeship course...
"To build on my leadership and management skills and work experience so far in my career and to continue to challenge my thinking to enable me to develop further.
The apprenticeship structure enables me the reflective and learning time that will enable me to fully experience and develop as I work through the MBA course." - Heidi
"I chose this course because it’s a great opportunity to move forward in my career and learn a lot from my peers which I can bring back to the University." - Jemima
We also asked them how they felt to be starting on this apprenticeship...
"I feel very supported and like the structure the apprenticeship brings with it. I am excited to get started on the Global MBA at Brookes and the 350 people that make up this cohort, as they are from so many different organisations and backgrounds. I am really forward to learning and networking with so many new people and working my way through the various modules that make up the MBA." - Heidi
"I am looking forward to meeting new people but I’m nervous about studying again when it’s been a long time since I last wrote an essay. I’m hoping it will all come back to me." - Jemima
The apprenticeship structure enables me the reflective and learning time that will enable me to fully experience and develop as I work through the MBA course.
