Apprenticeship Training Provider Spotlight - CSR Scientific Training

With hundreds of courses across many disciplines, Apprenticeship training is accessible to lots of roles, particularly in the University. We currently have over 150 employees on around 26 courses - today we look into the Level 3 Laboratory Technician Apprenticeship with CSR Group.

CSR Scientific Training are a small but perfectly formed team of 30 scientists and healthcare professionals who are all passionate about delivering quality scientific apprenticeship education.

Our aim is to bring education and industry together to enable people to go further, faster in their scientific careers.

We are the UK’s leading provider of laboratory apprenticeships and have been partnering with The University of Oxford for the last 7 years.

We are based in the Midlands but have a satellite training centre at Milton Park in Oxfordshire. At the moment we are delivering our learning on-line.

The next cohort will start in April and September 2021.

We currently work with a number of University departments namely: The BioEscalator, The William Dunn School of Pathology, The Clinical Biomanufacturing Facility, The Nuffield Department of Medicine and The Jenner Institute.

Level 3 Laboratory Technician Apprenticeship

Our main offering for the University is the Level 3 Laboratory Technician Standard which is offered with a qualification (The Foundation Diploma in Applied Science) or without.

This standard is for an entry level laboratory technician and gives individuals the knowledge, skills and behaviours to be a competent lab tech. The majority of the apprentices we have trained for the University have all been offered permanent roles within their host departments.
